Registry IDs and QR labels
Every scale you register gets one permanent identifier and a printable QR label. Scan the label and the device's record opens — no login, no app to install, and only the information the owner has chosen to make public.
WHAT A REGISTRY ID IS
PERMANENTA code in the form SR-01HZY3M8KQ, issued once and never reused. It stays with the device through calibration, repair, relocation, and a change of owner.
ONE PER DEVICENot per site and not per company — each individual scale or weighing instrument carries its own ID, which is what makes a record meaningful during an inspection.
THE ANCHOR FOR EVERYTHING ELSECalibration certificates, service visits, field evidence, and due dates all attach to the ID rather than to a spreadsheet row or an email thread.
What happens when someone scans the label
The QR code resolves to a public record at https://app.scaleregistry.com/s/<Registry ID>.
WHO SEES WHAT
ANYONE WITH THE LABELSees only the fields the owner has chosen to publish. Nothing else on the record is exposed — the rest stays behind role-based access inside the platform.
THE OWNERSees the complete history: every certificate, service record, photo, and reminder.
AN INSPECTOR OR AUDITORCan be given a view of the compliance record without being handed a binder or an inbox.
NOBODY, BY DEFAULTPublishing is opt-in per field. A device can carry a Registry ID and publish nothing at all.
A Registry ID is a record, not an approval. ScaleRegistry does not certify devices,
perform calibration, or act as a government agency — device approval comes from
NTEP,
OIML, or your national authority, and
inspections come from your state or provincial Weights & Measures office.
